Tiny Tim may have loved his goose. Scrooge may have sent some inconsequential street urchin to buy a turkey. Who cares? Dickens was centuries ago. Let it go. The New Christmas should not be mired in tradtion, but rather mix it up a little. Jesus would love that.
If you have to have turkey at least deep fry it. If you have to have goose at least shove a pheasant into it. At least!
Create your own cullinary traditions that your children will then shatter in their own good time.
